Legal Extern, Dep't of Homeland Security, ICE
May 2021-August 2021
My time working at the Department has been so fulfilling. Despite it being a completely virtual position, many of the Associate Counsels have been so welcoming and helpful to show us as much of the "attorney life" as they can. From sitting in on appellate reviews, to listening to detain docket hearings, there has not been a dull day in the office.
I have so far worked on research memos for asylum, research for national security, and evidence packets for DUI cases. I have also been researching and writing appellate briefs to the Board of Immigration Appeals, assembling exhibits for trials and observing hearings of current cases, and drafting motions and researching foreign country conditions.
I look forward to the remainder of my externship with these great people! :)
Executive Suites Seasonal, Chicago Bears
July 2019 - May 2020
My time working at the Chicago Bears has given me an opportunity to get an inside look at how a founding team of the NFL operates. I have learned that every aspect of the organization makes you feel like you're a part of a team. In order for game days to run without a hitch, every person who is a part of the team, on and off the field shows up and gives 110% through those 17-18 hour days. To see how you helped make this game a victory, win or loss on the field, is something you cannot get in any other industry.
Working as an Executive Suites Seasonal, I was challenged with a 7 page checklist to execute before every game day. Throughout the season, I have had endless support from my supervisors, even with a few hiccups along the road. I am in charge of a staff of 20, designating tasks the entirety of the game to ensure the guests have the best experience possible. During the game, I am challenged to think on my feet in order to solve problems we might endure in the suites, whether it is a bobble head request, a wet spill, or an unhappy customer, we treat every issue with the same importance and sense of urgency.
My experiences and education thus far has prepared me to perform the necessary tasks to succeed in this role. It has given me a rare opportunity to learn how to properly manage people, which has taught me that there are many different types of people and everyone is motivated in different ways. This experience has given me invaluable lessons that I will bring to my next job as well as grow and learn from my next employer.
Marketing & Social Media Intern,
NBC Sports Chicago
January 2018 - April 2019
Interning for NBC Sports Chicago has been a whirlwind of experiences. After being hired in January of 2018, I was able to learn the ins and outs of this organization's Authentic Fan campaign. I watched this campaign come to fruition from the start and gain nationwide popularity.
Working at the offices of NBC Sports Chicago has taught me how to properly promote and execute ideas and speak up in meetings with department directors. Part of my training was to learn how to work with photoshop to create graphics and edit videos for social media posts. I was thrilled to see them implement some of my ideas to engage with readers and viewers, alike.
This internship will last until May, but I will always look back on my time at NBC Sports Chicago with nothing but good feelings!
Loyola University Chicago
Sport Management Program
Teacher's Assistant
August 2016 - May 2019
During my time as a teacher's assistant, I was challenged with planning and coordinating three events per year, including guest speakers and social events. For these events, I created PDF flyers and promoted them around the business campus. I researched and planned a course to be admitted into the Sport Management Program this upcoming year. Starting with a total enrollment of students at 80, I thought the best way to get people to know about the program and club was to increase the marketing strategies that were in place. After months of tabling, starting a newsletter, and visiting classes, we have successfully tripled that number to 250 students in our program and club.
Loyola University Chicago
Undergraduate Admissions
January 2016-May 2016
I worked with a team of 15 students to operate events smoothly, specifically for incoming students. The inclination to help incoming students was how welcomed I felt as a freshman, I felt I needed to give back to the Loyola Community. Although the job did not carry over through my sophomore year, I try to help out with new students as much as possible!
